Dear friends/readers/Ztakespictures enthusiasts,
It’s not you. It’s me.
Last Thursday I forgot to take a picture. And you know what? For the first time, I didn’t care. Not that I never cared before - this blog was and continues to be something I take immense pride in, something that has allowed me to notice the small things, look for the beautiful or interesting in the mundane, and explore sights/scenes/photography in general.
But it stopped being fun. This blog started as a project to keep me busy, focused, and goal-oriented during my tediously long bout of underemployment. It helped. A lot. However, as the pieces of my life started falling into place (Job! Apartment! Yeah!), this blog became less of a support and more of a stressor (YES YOU WORKED A 12 HOUR DAY BUT DID YOU TAKE A PICTURE, ZOE?). And to be honest, stress or any additional pressure - to satisfy myself and what I want to accomplish with the blog or to answer to readers’ expectations - is not what I need.
So now it’s time to say goodbye and thank you. Thank you followers and readers for the words of encouragement, the comments, the support. Thank you friends and family for humoring me when I shove my lens in your faces and for enduring my nasty habit of posting unflattering (albeit charming) photos of you for all of the Interwebs to enjoy.
Really. Thank you.
I don’t want to say this is THE end - I’ll probably still share what I’m snapping on this blog, if not in a photo-every-day sort of way. But it has become apparent that my photo-a-day project is, indeed, over.
All my love,
